I connected my dvr to my dvd recorder using the s-video cable. I was burning a show from the dvr onto the dvd player. It recorded a great picture but there is no sound. I thought the s-video would take care of the sound also. I've been racking my brain and looking at the connections to see if I'm missing something. Just don't understand. Any one else have this problem?

  1. I think s-video is only picture, you still need the two av leads for the sound,

    Happy new Year

  2. ned to connect the left and right  audio, the s conn.. only transfer video .

  3. Yes the S-video is for video only. you need to hook up the RCA  cables too, just the red and white. from your dvr. use the audio output (red and white) Plug into the DVD recorder audio input

They are usually going up and down and labeled input 1,2 etc

    Hope this helps
