DVR question -- I'm new at it?

My son is in the service and may call tonight - which means I will MUTE my favorite show -- so I'm going to record them just in case and watch later BUT if I'm recording it and mute it during the show, will it mute in the recording? I can't imagine it would since you can record without the TV on but ..... just want to make sure.. THANKS IN ADVANCE......

  1. You can still record with the T.V turned off. As long as the DVR has power it will record.


  2. No because I have an DVR and I mute it and turn off the DVR and nothing will happen trust me I do it all the time

  3. no it will be fine, you can even turn the tv off completely and it will record
