DWG export files from Vectorworks 2008

Have a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X v. 10.5.5, 2.5 GHzIntel Core 2 Duo, and Vectorworks 2008. Cannot export files in DWGformat. Goes through all the steps but no file appears in mydesktop!..... Please help! if anyone knows what is going on..... Thanks!
