DaMarques Johnson: Lack of attention precludes him from having a game plan – UFC News
DaMarques Johnson claims he loves putting up a great fight, whether he is on a UFC main card or not.
Johnson believes his lack of attention to details prevents him from coming up with a game plan, something most fighters do beforehand.
Johnson will take on Mike Swick, former UFC welterweight title contender, in a three-round bout which will be held on August 4, 2012.
The showdown will be televised live from Staples Center in Los Angeles, United States and will be televised live on Fox TV.
The fight card will be headlined by the non-title bout between Mauricio Rua and Brandon Vera and will also witness Lyoto Machida co-headline the event against Ryan Bader in a non-title bout.
Johnson is being dubbed far and wide as a brawler who enjoys in fact has the passion to be in the octagon and fight just to entertain the people.
It is this reason why he is always satisfied with his performance no matter what the outcome of a bout is his ultimate goal is to put forth UFC fans an impressive showdown.
During the recent media interaction, when asked what his game plan against the returning Mike is, the 30-year-old stated, “I just kind of go in there. I mean, maybe I just don’t take it as serious. No, not as serious, just like … it's a dude that's going
to be punching me in the face, regardless. That's about what I try and leave it at. As far as all the game-planning, some guys like it. Me, my (attention deficit disorder) prevents me from doing any of that.”
Also known as ‘Darkness’, DaMarques has been in a total of 26 mixed martial art bouts, boasting 16 wins. Johnson last collided with John Maguire and lost the bout via submission.
Johnson was of the view that he understands that some people will cheer for him whereas others might boo him as well, adding that he assures one thing that he will not let anyone down.
DaMarques remarked, “I mean, love me or hate me, you're going to see an exciting fight. Whether you're cheering for me to get knocked out, or cheering for me to knock someone out, I probably won't let you down.”
Mike, Johnson’s Saturday night opponent, is making a return after a gap of almost 2 long years. Also known as ‘Quick’, Swick boasts 14 wins in a total of 18 bouts and is looking forward to make a comeback on the win track.
