Daan Philips trounces Lawrence in Men’s Singles title battle to earn glory at Tots Tornooi 2012
Belgium’s talented player Daan Philips displayed his lofty craft on court and remained successful in winning Men’s Singles title after crushing his compatriot Lawrence De Pauw in final encounter of Tots Tornooi 2012 in Belgium, on Sunday, December 23.
The higher ranked Philips, who was the top seed in Men’s Singles draw of this home event, entertained his local fans by playing attacking and positive badminton and managed to outplay his un-seeded challenger while consuming just 28 minutes in the arena.
Top seeded Philips displayed his incredible skills in the arena throughout the tournament and maintained his supremacy in the final battle as well.
Philips did not face any trouble in beating his compatriot in the title match in a convincing fashion by ending up the contest in two sets with a controlled margin.
On the contrary, the lower ranked Lawrence tried to maintain his winning rhythm in the final match but he failed to match the skills and speed of his higher ranked country-mate and eventually bowed down against him without proving his class.

The hard to return smashes and net killings kept Philips ahead of his challenger all the way until the end of first half in second set.
Philips was composed and positive on court in the ending points of second set and bagged the second game with a superb margin of 21-13.
It was the in-form Philips who proved his superiority in the arena in front of his home fans and won the final encounter in straight sets with a completely controlled 21-15 and 21-13 total on the board.
