Dacent Lightfoot and Bowtime Regan in for a challenge in the Sheffield Stadium 480 – Duplicated
The OR Sheffield Stadium 480 – Duplicated could only manage bringing together a very modest level of competition through the six entries that it has attracted. The participants will race over 480 metres flat at Sheffield on Tuesday, 23rd October.
Looking out for their share in the £200 prize money of the race are Dacent Lightfoot, Bowtime Jagger, Farloe Lenson, Trewmount Snap, Bowtime Regan and Anville Dean.
None of the six has been able to bag the prize money of the race that they last took part in. The only two who managed ending comparatively respectfully last time that they raced are, Dacent Lightfoot and Bowtime Regan.
The B. Heaton trained, Dacent Lightfoot, has now been racing since two seasons and has progressed through each race that came his way. His primary racing destination has been Belle Vue.
Tonight will be the first time in his two years’ career that Head Bound’s son will race at the open level.
The two-year-old out of, Fryers Glory, won the Grade S1 590 metres Flat on 29th September, 2012 at Belle Vue over 590 metres.
The black hound took off from the first box, and was very soon able to take care of the rest of the lot. Staying by the rail had him reaching the other end of the wire in 35.69 seconds. He defeated Cupids Arrow by 1 ¾ lengths.
The only hard luck of the two-year-old was that he was not in a winning form before the race, and could not sustain the shape after the race. His lack of conviction mirrored right through the two lost races that came in next.
The 5 to 1 entry has the advantage of breaking from the first trap tonight.
The other hope for tonight’s winner’s prize money is the two-year-old white and fawn dog, Bowtime Regan.
He won the Williamhill.com All England Cup Trial Stakes on 29th September, 2012 at Newcastle over 480 metres. Racing in the white vest, he led throughout the track distance, and managed surpassing the rest of the lot in 28.52 seconds.
The final 4 ¼ lengths that were in his favour, had Elwick Ghost making peace with the second position.
He is backed by 3 to 1 odds for winning the title.
