Dad's B-day Dinner? Any good places in LA??

My dad is turning 57, my mother, sister and husband all want to go somewhere nice. I do not want to spend no more than $20.00 per person for an entree. We don't live in LA but we are with in a decent driving distantance. We are pretty much open to any type of cuisine just no crazy drunken bar type places. Any one got some good ideas??? Its this Saturday! HELP! Thanks!

  1. I used to live in Malibu.  This was always a fun place to go: Malibu Fish & Seafood http://www.malibuseafood.com/

You can see their menu & price lists on their website.  BYOB--bring a nice bottle of wine to celebrate (or whatever dad likes best).

The food is good, the dining casual, and you can go for a walk on the beach after you eat.  If the tide is out, you can look at tidepools.

"After the beach, trek to MALIBU SEAFOOD for the freshest catch on the coast. Order at the counter, then relax at the picnic-style patio tables while you wait for your number to come up.  The steamed mussels are fantastic, grilled catfish is spectacular, and steamed lobsters are fabulous. It's BYOB, so tote a bottle of wine and enjoy a picnic at the tables."

  2. Hooters!!!!!!

  3. Roscoe's chicken and waffels try it

  4. Joselito's Mexican Food in Tujuna or Montrose.

Prices are very reasonable, and it is different than the usual CPK, Olive Garden etc... Authentic Mexican food. The awesome margaritas is one of the reasons this place is so awesome, the food and service is awesome!

  5. Try Simon LA (executive chef was an Iron Chef) or Osteria Mozza (executive chef: Mario Batali) they are both really tasty but I'm not sure about the price.

  6. 1.benihana (there's one in beverly hills and santa monica)

    2. The Grove: they have a ton of nice restaurants where you can get french or italian food, bbq..there's also a Johnny Rockets, a farmer's market with an amazing array of different foods, and there's also a Cheescake Factory)

    3. CPK {California Pizza Kitchen}: they have obviously pizza really good salads and more

    4. Louise's (an Italian restaurant)
