Dad and Gran visiting me in Central London?

They are visiting me on Saturday, 10 - 4pm. Gran can't walk great distances. They're not interested in shopping / museums etc they're just coming to see me! What do you suggest we do (apart from a relaxed lunch)? St. James' Park is one but can anyone else suggest any interesting/out of the ordinary things in central London? thanks!

  1. How about the London Eye? your Gran can sit down on the benches in the capsules, then you could go for lunch at one of the little restaurants near the Globe Theatre the other side of Waterloo station.

also you can get priority tickets on the internet, so you dont have to queue which your Gran might find difficult. These do cost a little more but are worth it for the convenience.

    have fun!!

  2. hi mcclaren,

why not grab a river bus from london bridge and bring them for a trip up the thames to westminster takes about 20 mins, get off the boat and then go on the london eye, after you have been on that st james park is less than a 10 min walk or about 2 mins in a black cab, you could bring a picnic and have it in the park if the weather is nice!

  3. Chill out next to the river Thames, maybe a short stroll.  This will give you loads of time to talk, plus lots to see, like Houses of Parliament, HMS Belfast, Millenium Bridge etc.  There's often street entertainment, too.

  4. If they have not been to London before i would suggest a trip on one of those buses that do a round sightseeing trip.

They are usually very interesting. Hyde park by the Serpentine is another idea, if the weather is good enough.

Hire an electric mobility scooter and take a stroll with gran around the town centre, and a meal out together.

  5. Hire a limo with driver and take them on a guided tour of London. No doubt they will be happy just to be with you.  Open top bus tour. Trip on Thames.

Swish restaurant or even MacDonald's, they want to see you, what ever you do will be a bonus and good in their eyes. What about a pony and trap ride in the park, if they still do them.
