Dad and Stepmom are always making me babysit my little brother?

Dont get me wrong, I have no problem babysitting as long as I know beforehand and it doesnt interfere with any plans that I already have. It seems like my dad and stepmom have started to expect me to babysit without me knowing beforehand or they make me cancel my plans to make theirs work. My problem is that I'm almost 16 and I have a social life and like to go do things with friends. There is one week left in the summer and I want to make it count. Well my stepmom decided to work weird hours to make her life easier. She works 3 12 hour days and 1 8 hour day so she can get a day off. My issue is that she makes it harder for me to do anything just because she wants things her way. Im just sick of them making me babysit when there is no reason for me too. What should I do?

Maybe you could ask them for at least 1 day a week to have completely to yourself where you don't have to babysit. I know one day doesn't seem like a lot, but it is better then know days.

After all they are working to take care of you and your bother.

Tell them you really like being able to help out and babysit, but would like to have a day where you can do your own thing too.
