Dad called me stupid ?

Question

I was washing the dishes tonight, &i accidentally dropped a plate. My dad started yelling at me and called me stupid & that i don't know anything at all. My mom joined in & said i wasn't gonna make anything out of my life. I feel like ****. I already have school starting tomorrow & they made it worse. They do this all the time, even if its their fault, its ALWAYS me thats wrong. I don't mean to be whiny.

Any advice ?

You can be what you want. prove them wrong believe in yourself. Dont let there short comings be yours. be bigger than they are love them even if they don't know how to love you. Most of all love yourself. everyone has problems and makes mistakes  don't let your mistakes get you down. Write down tonite what you will do in the next 4 months to prove them wrong. go out and get great grades in school. When they are not mad at you take the time to tell them that "you are sorry you disappoint them and you will try to make them proud. So they can love you again like they use to." this statement will shock them and make them think twice before they treat you like they were probably treated. Know that there are people who will pray for you tonite.

i go through this everyday, except it all comes from my mom. i don't think its fair the way she calls me all these hurtful names and your parents shouldn't call u that either. i actually dropped a plate around two or three days ago and my mom told me that i didn't know how to do anything and blah blah blah. i suggest that u first try to talk to them about the way u feel. if they don't listen to ur feelings and they keep on trying to hurt you verbally, talk to someone else about it and maybe they'll talk to ur parents and things will work out. i'll pray for u tonight. hope things get better.  :)

I don't know you or your parents, but I'm sure they are just under alot of stress right now, and did not mean what they said. People say mean things to the people they love the most in the world, I think because they just assume they will always be there. Don't worry about they're words. You sound like a bright helpful child to me.

That is called child abuse, even if they aren't hitting you. You need to tell them to change their act right now or you will call the cops and child protective services on them.

It sounds like your parents are very stressed out, ready to snap at the drop of a hat (or dish).

Try to do well in school.  U don't want problems both at school and at home.  And find some friends to hang with that respect you as you are.
