Most likely to dominate the Class 6 Book Tickets Online At Southwell-Racecourse.Co.UK Claiming Stakes is the Irish bay gelding, Daddy Warbucks. The race will be held at Southwell over a mile on Tuesday, 10th July, and has promised the prize money
of £1,704 for the winner of the event.
Multiplex’s three-year-old gelding bid farewell to the previous season with a success and then maintained the same composure while entering the new season.
The David Nicholls’ trained won the Market Cross Jewellers Claiming Stakes on 14th October, 2012 at Redcar over seven furlongs. The Irish gelding won the race under the guidance of jockey, Adrian Nicholls.
He set the favourite entry of the race, Artists Corner, as the runner-up.
Filling up the third slot was, Dylan’s Dream.
Daddy Warbucks out of mare, Skerries, captured the seasonal debut on 27th March, 2012 at Southwell over seven furlongs in the Golf And Racing At Southwell Handicap.
Again teamed up with the same rider, Adrian Nicholls, the three-year-old put in real effort inside the final furlong, and did not let the pressure get to him as he eased through intense competition by ¾ of a length’s margin.
Bred by the Edmond Kent, the three-year-old remained unsuccessful in the four outings that followed the seasonal debut.
His most recent race and decent finish was in the Investec Wealth & Investment Edinburgh Handicap on 29th June, 2012 at Musselburgh over a mile. The first one to race over the track distance was the favourite entry, Fine Altomis.
Daddy Warbucks had to compromise with success by a margin of 4 ½ lengths. Divine Success made slipped into the third slot behind the winner.
The three-year-old bay gelding will be paired up with jockey, Adrian Nicholls again today, and the two will take it on from the second stall with the 11 to 4 shot.
He will need to look out for Three Valleys’ three-year-old bay gelding who was successful in the second outing of the season. He won the Norfolk Racing Club/Oakley Horseboxes Apprentice Selling Stakes on 10th April at Yarmouth over a mile and
two furlongs.
The George Baker trained will be ridden by Pat Cosgrave, and will break from the fourth gate.
