  1. I breastfed my daughter and was a member of the La Leche League (spelling).  That device that your referring to is for women who adopt infants and want to simulate breastfeeding to encourage bonding.  In the case of your husband I would advise you to pump your milk in a bottle and let him feed the baby, now I know that most breastfed babies will not take a rubber nipple so what I did to include my husband in the process was allow him to burp the baby.

  2. It is some sort of tube that you hang down from your shoulder or hang to something else that has the bottle on the upper end and gravity flows it downward. The tube is supposed to stay right on your nipple so the baby sucks on your nipple but gets the formula.  It is used for women to help stimulate milk flow if it hasn't come in fully yet. I saw it on one of those TLC baby shows. I'm not sure how the male would use it because it doesn't come with any other sort of nipple that I know of. Also, I believe this is something you get from your pediatrician or the hospital.

  3. I think I've heard of the device, but I think it would be better if you just used a breast pump to get the milk and let daddy bond using a bottle.

  4. No idea about the device you're talking about but you can get a breast pump and he can use a bottle.

  5. That sounds really messed up and very disturbing

  6. I'm sorry... that's incredibly unnatural and weird.

Just thinking now about my own father breastfeeding me creeps me out. It's not how natural is designed.

Your husband wants to feed your newborn?

He can feed her a bottle of your pumped milk.

  7. Just pump some of your breast milk and let him feed the baby from a Playtex nurser.

Don't go overboard and waste money. That's just silly.

  8. Ive never heard of that but why on earth would you want to do that? Jeez! Just buy some bottles and a breast pump and let the guy feed the bebe with a bottle full of the stuff!!

  9. Actually, in some bizarre, traumatic cases, men have been able to breastfeed.  There's some information on known cases in the September/October 2008 issue of Mental Floss.  However, this does not happen normally, and even a lactation aid (that's the generic term for the type of device you're talking about) is not likely to be able to generate milk production.

Daddy can still bond using a bottle.  Lots of dads do the late night/early morning feedings and even if it's with a bottle of pumped milk, it's still some quiet shared time.

  10. i thought that was only on meet the fockers. your son is going to know it's not your breast anyway so why not just let daddy give him a bottle of your expressed milk.

  11. well never heard of the device though but u can google search it

  12. I thought I have heard something like that a while back this is what i found:

I think the whole idea is a bit wierd though... just my opinion :-)

  13. a bottle?

and i am sorry but that is just wrong

  14. Like on Meet the Fockers?

    That's weird..

  15. The device was in the movie "meet the fockers", but I don't remember what it is called.  Most women just pump the milk and let Dad feed from a bottle.

  16. it's a nursing supplementer, but I've never heard of a man using them. They're usually for adoptiv mothers or mothers who are re-lactating or have a low supply
