  1. daddy long leg spiders don't make webs, it's the bugs that are the problem

  2. Daddy long legs are not stupid spiders, I suggest you leave them there.

Once again I would not think they are your problem ,but not sure. Could you please let me know??THANKS

  3. You don't want to kill spiders.  Spiders eat the bugs that are damaging your plants!  Daddy Long Legs do not make webs.  There are many kinds of spiders and the types that make webs generally hide and wait for something to get caught.  Spider mites are a kind of damaging insect that makes webs, too.  You need to learn more about the type of pests you have before you can address them.

If you live in the USA, you can take samples of your problems, either flowers, bud, leaves or bugs, to your County Extension Agent and that office will help you figure it out.

  4. daddy long legs eat only bugs not plants, the little holes you are seeing is the bugs they eat. you should keep them they are helpful

check wikipedia.com for more info type in daddy long leg spiders.

  5. Bleach

  6. Okay since spiders eat other bugs

    the Daddy Long Legs

(which by the way are totally harmless to people)

are attracted to your garden at this time because

of the bugs that are destroying your plants

you should be glad the beneficial spiders are there

    rescuing your plants.

the spiders will go after they eat all the bad bugs

  7. um these "stupid" spiders are killing other "stupid" bugs

  8. .  They are probably there because there are other bugs there that are eating your roses and they are eating the bugs that are eating the roses. So they are doing some good to be there.

The black spots on the roses could be a common rose disease called "Black Spot."  Or it might be Anthracnose of roses.  It is a big problem in the east this year and I have had several roses die and even a tree completely defoliate.  We have had ideal growing conditions for the plant diseases. Too hot, too wet and then not enough rain.  It has stressed the plant. If you have stress on a plant it is less likely to fight off diseases.

It isn't because of the spiders.  If indeed you have Harvestmen which are also called Daddy Long Legs these aren't really true spiders but they don't eat roses.  They are in the same family with spiders and they do feed on plant materiel but not to the degree that you are thinking. They may be eating the fungi on the roses. This is more likely.  I left you a few links to look at to get an idea of what you might be seeing on your roses. You might re-post with a picture of the problem and or the spider so everyone could get a better idea and give you a better answer.

  9. Their mouths are too small to bite you you can pick them up gentle by a leg.  They are great friends.  They have a purpose.  Killing insects that are in your garden.  I leave the spiders for the bugs.  They are poisonous, how ever their mouth is too small to bite a human.  Spiders don't bite anyway unless you hurt them.

  10. daddy long legs eat other bugs. they are probably eating the bugs that are damaging your garden. but if you want to destroy all

of the bugs in your garden i would start with the one eating your plants. they are probably aphids. then the spiders will have nothing to eat an go away if you haven't killed them too. go to your local nursery.

  11. Don't kill the spiders -- they are working hard to keep the insects in your garden down. Spiders don't eat plants -- they are carnivorous.

  12. The spiders aren't hurting your plants.  Spiders don't eat plants. Spiders eat bugs.  So leave the spiders and kill the bugs. If the bugs are gone, the spiders will go elsewhere.

  13. I don't think  your daddy longlegs are eating your plants.  They are there to eat the other bugs you see.  Also, they are not spiders so they don't make webs.

They are harmless and good for your garden because they eat the other bugs.  If, however, you are determined to get rid of them, Sevin dust will take care of most "bugs".

  14. Please visit your nearest Nursery immediately. All your roses are in trouble and will die if you do not take immediate action. They will help you by giving you anti-spider solution, which is actually in liquid form, you have to spray this in your garden. You can also mix some in the water sprayer or into the water before watering your garden.

I am sure this will help you save your beautiful garden. All the best.
