  1. I'm not a dad, but here's my thoughts. First, although you are not looking forward to your daughter becoming of "age" you cannot hide. Part of not hiding is to be sure to make your daughter feel secure that she can come to you with any problem. Make sure she knows self defense, make sure she understands that no matter what, you are there for her. Opps...just repeated myself. hmmmm...make sure she is self confident in herself that she will not allow a boy to take advantage of her, have a bbq outside invite the boy over for a family day while you look "him" over...be discreet. Start taking her out on daughter and dad breakfast or whatever. (The most fun I remember of my dad is that twice a month we went to eat breakfast together. He didn't say to much to m, he read the paper mostly) but I felt special being the only one. I have three siblings. Make sure she knows that dad will always be there for her...EVEN if she is RIGHT or WRONG. One day you will be dancing at her wedding with her during the song......."Butterfly Kisses"
