  1. my computer doesnt support japanese. so ill give you only romaji writing. ok?

    david -> de + i + bi + (tsu) + to

    *(tsu) is small letter

    or

    daivid -> de + i + {u+"} + (tsu) + to

    *about {u+"}. just add " to katakana 'u'. this writing is allowed in japan now.

    (tsu) is small letter

    please check your katakana chart to write.

    i hope you understand what i wrote here...

  2. I think v's are usually replaced with b's...it's a similar sound. If you need a consonant on it's own it's usually the u version, which for a d on its own would be like "du" - but that doesn't exist either - so for d on it's own they use do - like bed = beddo ベッド

  3. this is what david looks like in katakana:

    デイヴィド

    for the V japanese people tend to use a B, however, morepopularly they use a voiced U(ヴ). (which linguistically is utter bollox). but hey who are we to judge. also note that the second イ is smaller than the first, this is because it forms the syllable VI together with the voiced u.

  4. A man named David Aldwinckle became a Japanese citizen, and his naturalized name became Debito, written 出人 in Japanese kanji.
