How many miles a day or every other day should I jog/run to lose 5 pounds in a week?

  3. You will need to alter your diet and exercise daily to reach your goal.

    If you eat meat have it for dinner and a smaller portion than normal. Eat low fat meals and avoid white sugar (including soda). Do not eat until you are completely full. Try instead eating 75% of what you usually eat following the easy guidelines above. Anticipate that you might want to snack - buy fruit you like.

    Do not eat anything after 7 PM.

    Wake and walk or jog for a combination of the two for 60 minutes each day before your first meal of the day. Wake up early if needed. If you feel like it go for a 30 minute walk in the evening as well but don't tire yourself out so much that you miss your morning workout.

    Drink water throughout the day. It will give you the sensation of being fuller and replace the fluids you are losing through exercise.
