What are some daily problems that, as a French person, you face? Is daily life in France expensive? Are the laws restrictive or are you fine by them?

  1. The main problem in France: STRIKES!!! there is always someone to complain here!!!

  2. Money is the most important problem, beside that a gallon   of petrol cost around 8 $, (so we consider the American as VERY lucky to only pay it 4$ ) the price of food is rising constently, , and the GMO Frankeinstein food coming from the US is also trying to come to France.

For our liberty the dwarf Sarkosy is trying to take them away from us but we will fight to keep them.

  3. and something the others haven't mentioned: the annoying work hours!

french people have 35 hours of work per week, according to the french news... which is less than other countries.

also 99% of stores don't work on sundays and it's uncommon to see stores open past 6 pm on a week night. except for thursdays, late closing.

but meh. it doesn't compare to the us. things are always open until like ten there, it's sweet x]

  4. French people are beginning to eat more processed foods.

The weak buying power has forced many people to shop the center of the supermarket - meaning, the cheaper but more caloric items versus the fresh foods, which are found in the periphery of the market that are more expensive, less caloric but more healthful.

    Otherwise thing went fine

France have vastly higher taxes than the United States.  labor laws tend to increase the cost of labor. distribution and retail efficiency is below that of the USA.

By the way, in France drivers pay about $8 a gallon for gasoline, so consider yourself lucky if you have to pay ONLY $4!

  5. There do seem to be more strikes in France than in the U.S.  Also daily life is much more expensive, in my opinion.  I find that food, gas, entertainment and clothing costs about twice as much in France as it does in the States.  (I'm assuming you're from the States; if you're British then it probably is about the same, perhaps less expensive in a few areas.)

  6. Frequent  strikes, especially transportation & parking in Paris.

If you are earning dollars it's more expensive but in Euros it's no more than living in NYC.

Some laws suck, like anywhere else, otherwise they are fine.
