Daily protein intake?

I'm 5 feet 6 inches, male and weigh about 135 pounds. What would a recommended daily intake of protein be in grams?

  1. I have heard you need one gram for every 2 lbs. of body weight.

  3. If you are not in training or not trying to gain weight, you should take half of your body weight in grams per day. However, if you currently doing the aforementioned, 1 gram per pound that you weigh is correct.

    Two grams per pound is not a good idea. Unless you are a body builder taking steroids.

    FYI,

    Your body can not metabolize more than 25 grams per serving, so take your protein in stages.
