Daily questions to ask first graders?

I would like to have a question posted daily for my first grade students to answer as they arrive each morning as a way to take attendance. These questions can be yes/no answers or can be ones where they can choose between no more than 3 choices. Does anyone have ideas or know where I can find enough questions to use daily and last for the entire year?

ok #1: write any question and discuss it as a class like: How can you be a better reader?? stuff like that.

#2: kids LOVE to have fun when learning...

make class books with pictures.. and it can be educational

As long as you have one for this week, you can stay one week ahead of them.

1. Of these colors, which is your favorite: Blue or RED.

2. Yes or NO, I like vegetables.

Answer 3

I have a pet (or dog, cat, fish). You can stretch this one out by using a different animal now and then.

I wore gloves today (nice to know how many to look for at the end of the day)

What did you have for breakfast? (cereal, nothing, eggs, etc)

How many sisters do you have? Use brothers another day.
