Daily water intake?

I can't tolerate the taste of water for long. I can drink half a glass and after that it makes me gag. I like to mix cranberry or apple juice with water. I take less than 1/4 glass of juice and the rest is water. Does that count towards my daily water intake (don't bother mentioning calories ;). I'd rather have that than dehydration due to my weird taste buds).

  1. I use to hate water as a kid but now I love it. Keep trying every few years to see if you like it. Our tasts change as we get older.

    To anser your question we can get our water intake from food and other drinks. No problem there. Yes it means extra calories but if you are OK with that then it does not matter.

    Keep in mind that both alcohol and caffeine actualy dehydrate you. Don't count any of those as your water intake.

    The old saying of 8 glasses a day is outdated and inaccurate. For proper hydration we need 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight plus 8 ounces for every 20 minute of exercise. With hot/dry climates and days even more will be needed.

    Also what you are doing by adding stuff to water is fine. You can even add water to other things you drink to dilute it down a little and give you more water.

  4. Yes, doing that will hydrate your body as you are still getting the water.

    Maybe you've already tried it, but get one of the those Pur or Brita water pitchers. Filtering the water will not only clean it, but can make it taste tons better too. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

  6. That counts as water intake. Much of the time we get 45% from the foods we eat anyhow.

  7. try Crystal lite packets on the go. all you do is open it up and put it in you plain water and shake it and  now you have low calorie flavor water with out the guilt. and at the same time you are still geting your water intake at the same time
