  1. What about colour coding them with bands of different coloured insulating tapes?

  2. Hi!

Not sure of any places you can buy numbered tags. We tend to buy most of our products for tail tagging and identification from CWG Ltd and Burgesses. Had a look on the CWG website and can't find any numbered tail tags but I would reccommend SprayLine as you can spray this on the cow so that it's number can be identified clearly. The only tail tags we use are the colour coded ones for the cow's cake feeding amount in the parlour and as I'm sure you know these do tend to come off pretty easily.

    Here's CWG's website http://www.cwg.co.uk/media/CWG%20Media/C...

You could also try ringing them to see if they have any numbered ones at all that are not listed in their catalogue and if not they may know where you can get some from.

    Hope this helps!

  3. United dairy farmers. thats what my dad was on before the farm went bust due to the low milk prices

  4. i thought cows were ear branded with tags.dosn`t answer your Q just interested.

  5. I really have searched this one out for you. I did find a website that may be of help. I know many dairy farmers here in the states but i need to know more about this sort of tape whay is it put on the tails? u may e mail me at kaceywhat@yahoo.com, hopefully i can hook your dad up with what he is looking for.Somethings can be frustrating.

  6. why not use neck collars with numbers on them . they are more effective than tape will last a  lot longer and you can get  various  colours to indicate 'dry' period. in the winter we put blue ones on all the dry cows as they are housed with the milkin  cows.and yellow ones for barren cows not to be a i'd.but in the long run freeze branding is the best . we use genus to do it  not sure about the cost of it probably they are ripping us of as usual lol. try Fearing for the tape
