Daiya Seto upsets Laszlo Cseh in Men’s 400m IM final – FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup
Daiya Seto of Japan upset Laszlo Cseh in the Men’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) on initial day of the 2012 FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, October 2.
The Japanese swimmer went on a rampage in the distant IM discipline and overpowered his competitors for the title in a ruthless manner.
He enjoyed a comfortable lead over Hungarian swimmer, Cseh and cruised his way towards the finishing wall for gold medal by producing a wonderful time of 4 minutes and 02.64 seconds.
The champion was followed by Cseh, who remained nearly four seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end as second best finisher by producing a nice time of 4 minutes and 06.69 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Chaosheng Huang of China, who suffered a loss of 0.09 seconds from his foregoing finisher and touched the wall for bronze medal with an effort of 4 minutes and 06.78 seconds.
Huang was trailed by Marco Koch of Germany, who remained considerably slower from overpowering the third position holder and finished fourth in the race.
Koch remained almost 18 seconds slower from Huang and settled on the wall for fourth place with an effort of 4 minutes and 24.38 seconds.
Fifth best spot of the event was obtained by Sheng Jun Pang of Singapore, who remained 1.62 seconds behind and transpired on the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 26.00 seconds.
Pang was followed by Fran Krznaric of Croatia, who stayed three and a half body length behind and clocked an effort of 4 minutes and 29.62 seconds for sixth place.
Similarly, Krznaric was followed by Alastair Miley, who was nearly seven seconds apart and clocked a time of 4 minutes and 36.40 seconds for seventh position.
Eighth spot of the event was obtained by Nicholas Silverthorn of USA, who remained 1.11 seconds behind and posted an effort of 4 minutes and 37.51 seconds.
In addition, Seto received a huge round of applause from the audience for his impeccable efforts and collected his accolade at the victory ceremony of the race.
