Dale Earnhardt Jr is due - can he win the Sprint Cup this year??

Is it finally his year for the Championship? Does he have what it's going to take to smack down that Busch Brat?

No but itsn't it time some of you Jr. fans realize that all these years he's let you down week after week, and even this season it's no different. He will NEVER win a championship even if NASCAR tries to hand him one. He's just not that good. The Busch brat as you call him on the other hand, will be a MULTIPLE time champion. Now don't that just hurt your feelings?

More people than Jr are due a championship. He cant win this year. It's matter of fact. He won one race, that was basically given to him because of a red flag and fuel strategy. He cant win. Its going to be a showdown between Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards who are also both DUE.

Not at all. Kyle Busch has way too many bonus points lined up for the Chase, and even if he didn't the lead would still be too large! I have nothing against Jr, but Kyle has too much going for him once the Chase starts.

I'm positive he won't win this year, and rather doubtful as to him ever winning a title. His best driving days are over, and the competition is just too stiff today.

Sorry to disappoint but I don't think he has a better chance than anyone else in the top 12. As a matter of fact I think the only ones that are going to have something for Busch once the chase starts are Edwards and Johnson. Kyle better be keeping an eye on those two.

i truly believe that he needs to be more aggressive if he wants to have a chance at it but as of late he's been slipping downward in the standings and he seems to fade back at the end of the race but as long as he finishes ahead of his punk a** teammate gordon i'll be happy

lol yea he has a chance but have you seen how he has been running...compared to the other guys who will start before him...that means he will have to be better than Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson and most importantly Kyle Busch, do you really think even if he ran better than Jimmie and Carl, do u really think he would have anything for Kyle, he hasnt had anything yet and he's been chasing Kyle all year

Yes he can.  His consistency could lead to a championship but he will have to win a couple of races during the chase in order to do it.

Kyle probably will win the Championship this year.  I say "probably" because anything can happen so I won't say "Definitely".   Sooo...that being said...Jr. has about as much chance as anyone in the top 12.  Just not likely.

I sure would love to see that happen.  The way I see it is that once the Chase is here they all start over and they all have a chance at that point.  Some may have more points but none of them enough to guarantee a Championship.  It's a whole new racing season then.

Ive got a little love for Jr, but I don't see it happening.  Maybe next year after he gets in the groove of his new team and they work on some stuff his chance will be better, but I don't see him getting it this year.  It would be great to see someone run all over Buschy boy though!

I think he will prove to the doubters that he has a talent one way or the other.

EDIT  : I dont care if you keep thumbing me down but i am still going to say he may win a few races this year and the championship who knows but give him a year to adjust with a new team and he'll show you people who say he cant will be quiet.

he will I see potential and I know that soon he will get a few championships like Gordon and Stewart no doubt before his career is over. he be like the best drivers out there !

He can be aggressive when he wants to, but I dont think he likes it to much cause he is nice, but I  remember last year when Gordon pushed him aside to go past and the commentators said that he was begining to drive like his dad. I just think that part of him has not come out but he can if he needs to.

dale jr races consistant, so does jeff burton and some other drivers. dont get me wong consistant is good but when it comes to the chase, drivers will be pushing harder then ever, not only the chase drivers but all of the drivers. when it comes to the final races you need to be aggressive to get top 10 placings, and that aggressiveness is something jr has not shown much of this year. however if he does pick it up i think he will have a shot. out of the drivers in the chase currently i think only 6 have what it takes to win, so i giver jr a 1 out of 6 chance.
