  1. richard childress still has it

  2. Totally unofficial rumor has it that the car was buried underground and covered in cement.

  3. Sitting in the bottom of Lake Lloyd according to a unreliable source out of Alaska

  4. Richard Childress the owner of RCR most likely had it destroyed.

  5. to my knowledge, after Nascar Officials and safety analysts were finished with the investigation, the car was returned to RCR.....

who in turn sent it to DEI where it was locked away from those who wanted to "sight see"..this was a horrible accident and no one is ever to be allowed to disgrace him by gawking and commenting on his death...I applaud DEI for this action!

His legacy will live on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW: I was told this information from a person that I know that worked for DEI..now works for JRMotorsports

  6. The car that Sr died in was scrapped the day after it came back to Welcome NC which is the way it should have been it is bad enough to have commentators remind us on a nearly daily basis that Sr is no longer with us but no one needs to see the car he died in.

  7. This car was checked from front to back inside to outside by the Florida authorities then released to NASCAR.

NASCAR took it to Charlotte where it was checked by the NASCAR engineers and saftey teams. After they finished their inspection it was released to Childress racing.

Where Richard Childress had the car cut up and distroyed.

So there is no car anywhere that was the one Dale died in.

  8. NASCAR impounded it for inspection to see what happened, but beyond that I have never heard or even thought about.

  9. if not destroyed one of the teams has it either RCR because it was their driver or DEI because it was their family... but the general public doesn't have access to it

  10. me i was kinda wanting to know were it is i know i wont be able to see but i heard it was sittin in a lock box some where just rotting away

  11. I know there are pictures of it in the accident report and investigations that were performed by NASCAR. You can see the seat belts, seats, impact area of the front. It's a very realistic nothing hidden view of what was left after the crash. It's at NASCAR's website. It's about a 300 page report and the pics are about 2/3s of the way back I believe.

    Here is the report http://www.nascar.com/SPECIAL/er/html_ve...

Added: I was wrong it is in the first 1/3 of it.

Edit: In short it may be possible that NASCAR still has it at a private location.

  12. It should be long gone by now...

Maybe sitting away somewhere safe and away from people who would deface it.

I mean, look at what they did to Graceland in the name of love for Elvis...
