Dale Jr. fans who collect die-casts?

Question

I'm wanting to get my husband a die-cast for his birthday that's coming up, I'm torn between 3 different ones.

As a Jr. fan, which one would you most like to have??

1-The Bud Shootout win raced version

2-The Retro Mountain Dew

3-The Citizen Soldier (grey car he ran at all-star race, but you probably knew that)

Or is there another that you'd like to have more, I'm open to suggestions..

The grandchildren may one day, have themselves a real collectors item $$$.....   to fight over of course!  lol

I got the retro Mt. dew car. because ima DW fan. If your husband is a dw fan get him that. but as a guy the citizen solider car is pure badass

The citizen car is pretty cool looking. But there is something about the raced version that makes it special. I have a few raced version and there is just more to admire.

I don't collect them - I don't have a place to put them or the money to do it...though I do wish I could!

In MY opinion - which is what you asked for of course - I would rather have one of his current cars.  I realize the Bud ones might be worth more at some point, but as a fan this is where my loyalty is now.  

Any DEI car kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth for some reason.  I realize this is where Junior got his start and what his dad wanted for him but it's also what Teresa ruined for him (at least in my opinion, I know others feel differently).

I don't know how your husband feels about the whole "change" so you might want to take that into account.

Is he bitter about the whole DEI thing - for whatever reason he doesn't like what went down - or does he just think of it as business?

If "just business", and others here think the Bud Shootout would be best...go with that.  If bitter, I would say Retro Mountain Dew because I like the look of that car more and I think we will be seeing that car - or some version of it - more often and is "more Jr." at this point.  

Just my take and how I would look at it!  But then I am a girl  :-)  Maybe men have a different take on this type of thing!  LOL!!

EDITED TO ADD - I DO REALLY LIKE THIS CAR!!!  I know it wasn't on your list...but I really like the look of it and can't wait to see it in two weeks!  I love the "digital Camo"  :-)  Though I don't know when his birthday is and if you need to have the car and not just some card that says it will be here when released...then it won't work anyway.  But this is so cool - and it might even be a winning car  :-)  GO JR!

All 3 of these are great cars, however, if he doesn't have his '08 AMP or National Guard diecast, you may want to start his collection with one or both of these. As a first year run, these will be as collectable as the 3 you mentioned....but the 3 you like are really cool too....you can't go wrong.

wow great choices....I'd have to say....#1  bud shoot out... QVC has great die casts you cant buy any where else,you can buy signed cars by dale, limited chrome,gold ,copper and silver limited editions and dales always on talking about his favorite cars 4 u to buy,.....your a great wife no matter which one u buy, he's gonna LOVE IT!!!

Id rather have the raced-version. But i like those. Somepeople dont like having dirty-looking cars. The raced version may not be released yet and on pre-order. MAKE SURE! they are available.

Raced versions typically take 25-28 weeks after the win for them to ship out.

LOL but if it was me I'd want the citizen soldier one cause that one is great I loved it!! just my opinion!!

personally, i collect the 1:64 cars and made sure to get the standards - the amp'd and national guard cars, as they are first year issues and his "standard" cars.

I have #2 and #3 and I have his new Camo #88 that he is gonna run in Daytona in July on order..  I swear you can go broke getting all his die cast so now I just get the ones I really want.. I've also heard that he does plan in the future with Amp, featuring all the different colors that Amp comes in, the only one I'll probably get is Overdrive the Red/Black/Silver, but I hear these other colors are not coming out till next yr.

I would like the Retro Mountain Dew. The Bud Shootout one is just like any other National Guard scheme and the Citizen Soldier one is good, but the guys seem to love the Dew scheme. Get him the Dew paint scheme, he'll like it better.
