Did anybody watch the Coca-Cola 600? After Jr. wrecked he sped down pit row THREE times when it was closed and was not penalized!! I like Jr. but he is not my favorite driver but this goes to show once again that Nascar applies rules to whom ever they want and whenever they want. It is c**p like this that makes me wonder why I am a Nascar fan.

  1. He had to start at the end of the lead lap for that,

  2. junior, like kyle, had to start at the end of the longest line for pitting while pit road was closed (junior for his damage, and kyle for his battery).  junior was also to be assessed a penalty for speeding down pit road, but that is the same penalty (end of longest line) and meant nothing additional under yellow.

but, he was also originally assessed a one-lap penalty for driving dangerously near safety crews, but it was rescinded after nascar watched the tapes and decided that he put no one at risk.

it not only confuses the heck out of most fans (if not all, including me), but tony stewart as well.  tony questioned the call:

"when tony heard about the rescinding of the safety crew penalty he responded with, "now how does that work?""

read into it what you like...

  3. Well, That's Racing....!!

  4. There has already been a couple questions about this.

The penalty for speeding on pit road DURING A YELLOW FLAG is going to the tail end of the longest line, which he did.

You should probably brush up on the rules before you continue making assumptions.

  5. Junopr had to start at the end of the lead lap cars.

NASCAR di reverse the rule about pentilizing him 1 lap for endangering a saftey worker.

  6. I bet ya NASCAR is letting slide for Junior in an attempt to finally get him in victory lane. You know, bump up the ratings. Maybe NASCAR is afraid of Team Satan.

  7. Junior passed the pace car & safety vehicles under the caution - a mandatory one lap penalty for everyone who has EVER done it.  The penalty has NEVER been recinded.  It is a SAFETY violation & until last night has never been reviewed.  Junior also speed down pit road every time he pitted while pit road was closed.  Pitting when pit road is closed automatically sends your car/driver to the tail end of the longest line (lead lap/lapped).  Junior should have been assessed the one lap penalty for passing the pace car & safety equipment, plus put at the tail end of the longest line on the restart, then a stop & go penalty for speeding down pit road (probably for each time he sped down pit road).  That would have put him at least 2 laps down & probably 3.  Kyle Busch also pitted when pit road was closed but DID NOT SPEED down pit road, therefore he only received the penalty of starting at the tail end of the longest line which he did.  I can understand Tony Stewarts frustration.  It seems NASCAR is doing everything it can to get Junior a win.  So is Hendricks.  If you don't believe that ask Jeff Gordon & Jimmy Johnson why they are all of a sudden sucking hind t*t.  It is only a matter of time before those two's frustrations become public.

  8. Nascar did that on purpose if they penalized Jr. he would a be a lap down. Nascar figure it gonna cost him his race so decided to put him the end of tail.

  9. they did it fair.  he got 5 sec penalties for speeding and he did get thrown to the end of the lead lap

BUT!!!! , he would have already been there.  because unless he was lapped, thats where he was the end of the lead lap, so it hardly seems fair.  but its a Nascar sanctioned event and they did what they deemed neccesary, however unfair it may seem..   hey Bud car ended up in victory lane.  havent seen jr do that lately.

he finished 5th so they can be happy (jr fans)

  10. He did get penalized for that, he had to start at the end of the longest line for it. You can only be penalized once, so that's why he just kept doing it. I'm no Junior fan, but the same thing would have happened to any driver who did that. There was no favoritism shown to anybody.

  11. penalty for speeding under caution is tail end of longest line

which is where he started again

  12. They didn't penalize Kyle Busch either for pitting early. Well they did but all they did was make him go to the tail end of the longest line which is the same thing they did to Dale Jr.

Now NASCAR did put Dale Jr down a lap for speeding down pit road but reviewed the penalties and reversed the decision. Dale Jr is the only driver they have ever put down a lap for speeding down pit road. They started to do it again last night. I think someone might have reminded NASCAR that that might be a bad decision with the fans.

All in all, if Dale Jr would have got put down a lap then Kyle should have also for pitting too early. I honestly think if Kyle had not been on pit road then NASCAR would have stayed with the lap down penalty against Dale Jr.

  13. Yes he was penalized.  Pay closer attention.

  14. The penalty for speeding on pit road is to restart at the tail end of the lead lap. Jr was penalized by NASCAR for speeding on pit road, it just happens that the penalties were pointless because of the amount of time he spent getting his car repaired on pit road. In all actuality Jr's move was a smart one to keep himself on the lead lap. Had he NOT been speeding on pit road the first and second times, he would have been even further behind the 8-ball by being a lap down. He already knew what the penalty would be and decided to take it instead of going the lap down. It was a calculated and intelligent move on his part.

....to the two answers directly above me - If you are going to black flag Jr for bumping Hamlin, then you MUST SUSPEND Hamlin for INTENTIONALLY WRECKING Keselowski under caution. Swing that judgmental pendulum the other way for just one second there, Buddy. How is it fair for Hamlin to do it but not Jr??? HMMM??? Yeah - that's right - it's not.... And by "Team Satan" you must be referring to that sorry-a** hypocrite Joe Gibbs, right?

  15. you cannot put the fan favorite a lap  down when he has a chance to finally win a race, anyone else would of received a lap down that is what stewart is talking about. of course there is favoritism when it comes to jr. he should of been black flagged in the least the other night in the nationwide race when he deliberately rear ended hamlin, FAVORITISM!
