Dale Steyn and Imran Tahir clear fitness test ahead of Netherlands match – ICC World Cup 2011 news
South African fast bowler Dale Steyn and leg spinner Imran Tahir have been declared fit for their second match of the ICC World Cup 2011 against Netherlands on Thursday.
There were doubts about the duo’s availability for their encounter against the Dutch, since the two bowlers were struggling with their respective injuries and missed a couple of training sessions with the team.
Both are South Africa’s premier strike bowlers and are expected to play a big part if the Proteas are to do well in the tournament.
Pakistan-born Tahir was suffering from a respiratory tract infection while Steyn faced a bruise in a practice session. However, the injuries were not serious and both of them have recovered quickly to remove the concerns in the South African ranks.
South African team manager Mohammad Moosajee said, “http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-c64193 Tahir passed their respective fitness tests on Wednesday and are fit for selection for the Group B encounter. Both Dale and Imran bowled at 100 percent effort this afternoon and are
available for selection.”

all the way in cricket’s flagship tournament.
