Dale Steyn is fired up for the upcoming battle against the number one ranked side, India. In anticipation, the number one bowler has said that preparation of lively pitches in the upcoming series against India will be a deciding factor.
India is touring South Africa to play a three-match Test series. The first Test starts at Centurion on December 16.  This will be the start of the South African summer after they drew the recently concluded Test series against Pakistan in U.A.E.
It will be a clash of the titans as the number 1 Test team takes on the number two ranked side in their backyard. The series will be influenced by bowling friendly wickets in South Africa. The visitors have already been warned to cope up with the pace and
bounce in the touring country.
Indian batsmen have scored runs in all conditions. However, South African conditions remain the 'Achilles Heel' for the Indian players as their batting average dips down when they travel to South Africa. Historically, short pitched deliveries have been a
problem for the Indians as mostly, they have accounted for their dismissals.
Steyn said, "It will be really sad if we have similar wickets to the ones we had when we played http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033.”This is a big series between two good sides and we need results to keep people interested."
India has won a Test match in South Africa only once in their entire history. On the last tour of South Africa in 2006, India made history, when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Sreesanth-c2398 inspired them with his five-wicket haul as they defeated Proteas in Johannesburg to register their
first ever test win on the African soil.
The South African leading bowler added, "Everybody has played enough around the world now for no conditions to be totally unknown. The Indian batsmen have proven themselves over the years and the pitches will be a test for both of us; our bowlers against
their batters and their bowlers against our batters."
Steyn also mentioned that South Africa holds a slight edge as the conditions in their country favour them. The Proteas batsmen are more used to the conditions and they do well when the pitch offers a certain amount of pace and bounce. Similarly, the bowlers
enjoy the conditions as-well as they will love to bowl on pitches that offer speed and even bounce.
Dale Steyn has a terrific record against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 as he has scalped 32 wickets in seven Test matches, including his career best performance in Nagpur, where he singularly won the Test match for South Africa. In doing so, the leading fast bowler in the world
registered significant figures of 10/108, including 7/51 in the first innings.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757’s premier quick bowler revealed, "Every bowler wants a green top but we don't get them that often. Pitches around the world favour batters these days, I don't know if it's because they get used so much and they are worn out. The truth is that
you rarely find a wicket that offers bowlers enough to get 20 wickets quickly. We have to work for our wickets."
Steyn is eyeing the Indian openers as he suggests that the opening pair for India has been prolific in the recent years. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virender-Sehwag-c95429 pose the biggest threat as they can take the game away from the opposition in no time.
India has a strong batting line-up that features some of the greatest batsmen world has ever known. A middle order that includes http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772 and Sachin Tendulkar will not be easy to bow down.
South Africa’s premier fast bowlers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morne-Morkel-c77722 and Dale Steyn will have to fire in the upcoming series against India and if they do, then Indians will surely be covering for shelter.
