South African fast bowler, Dale Steyn, shared that he is going to miss the outgoing Proteas bowling coach, Vincent Barnes, but also expressed excitement on the prospect of working with Allan Donald.

The pacer went on to acknowledge Barnes’ influence on his growth as an international cricketer. Steyn revealed that he could share his personal problems with the former Proteas bowling coach, apart from tips related to cricket.  
"It's disappointing, of course, seeing Vinnie go but over the years we've been with the (national) side we've almost become more pertinently 'friends' than just a player-and-coach sort of situation. He's almost been like a father figure and a good mate.
I can phone him for anything from, you know, computer troubles to cell-phone troubles to bowling troubles,” he said.
At the present moment, Steyn is considered as one of the most dangerous fast bowlers of the world, because of his pace and the ability to swing the bowl both ways.

Steyn’s bowling action is quite similar to Donald’s and the former is looking forward to becoming the best bowler South African cricket has seen since the last two decades.
"I used to imitate Allan; pretend to be him in the back garden - all those things youngsters do. When I got a little bit older and actually met him, it was a massive thing for me,” Steyn added.
