Dale Steyn rubbishes talks of Deccan Chargers being minnows in IPL5 – Cricket News Update
The frontline pacer of Deccan Chargers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DW-Steyn-c1409, is in no mood to press the panic button despite losing all the three matches they have played so far in the latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Speaking to the media reporters ahead of their fourth IPL match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 pacer rubbished the talks of Chargers being minnows in the ongoing fifth instalment of the lucrative Twenty20 league .
The Chargers opened season five with a 74-run thrashing at the hands of defending champions Chennai Super Kings at home. However, in the next two games the Deccan-based franchise looked quite competitive taking it to the final overs before losing thrillers
against Mumbai Indians and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals.
Steyn said that they played really well against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 and Rajasthan but were quite unlucky to finish the respective games with losses.
"We have been a bit unlucky in the last two matches,” Dale Steyn, Deccan Chargers’ spearhead pacer, said during an exclusive interview to
Cricketnext.com. “We played really well. We brought ourselves into a position where we could have won both the games. It could have been very easily two wins and one loss for us," he added further.
The prolific fast bowler said that they were not worried about the three straight defeats adding that there is still a long way to go in the tournament and hoped his side will soon bounce back strongly.
"We are not much worried about our losses,” said the right-handed fast bowler who has five scalps in his name from three games so far.
“There is a long way to go...We have only played three games. It's not over yet," he added further.
Asked about Thursday’s match against Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Steyn said that it was a big game for them and they were desperate to win the game to break their three-match losing streak.
"It's a big game for us. We need to put a 'W' [win] on the board,” said the frontline Deccan pacer. “Hopefully, we open our winning account tomorrow [Thursday],” he added.
