http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager, Kenny Dalglish admitted that his 35 million pound striker, Andy Carroll will be nervous ahead of the tour of Sports Direct Arena on Sunday. However, the Scott was satisfied with his side’s preparation for the match.
The burly striker will play for the first time at Tyneside against his former club, after coming to Anfield in the January transfer window in 2011. He has played for the Reds against the Magpies on two occasions but both the matches were played at Anfield.
The last time the Reds visited the Sports Direct Arena, was in December 2010 but the English striker played in the opposite colours then. Newcastle won that match 3-1, with Carroll scoring one goal for the Magpies.
However, the last meeting between the two clubs three months ago went in favour of the Merseyside team who beat the Magpies 3-1 at Anfield.
Tyneside won’t be a new place for Dalglish either, who remained the head coach for the Magpies for almost 20 months from 1997 to 1998. He was axed by the club in the beginning of the 98/99 season.
The Scott backed his striker to rise to the challenge and not to make too big a deal out of the occasion. He hoped that Carroll will be able to translate his nervousness into goals.
He said, "It's not a bad thing, is it? If you weren't nervous you'd have a bit of a problem.”
"I don't think anyone can be laid back when they go and play at the club that gave him his opportunity in football and turned him into a professional footballer."
Dalglish recalled his managerial time at Tyneside and mentioned that he enjoyed the time with his former club.
"It's not the first old club I've been back to and every club I've been at I've enjoyed.”
The Magpies will go into the match against the Reds with the aim of further stretching their eight point advantage over the Merseyside team. Dalglish praised the Magpies boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew for his role in lifting Newcastle and believed that he had done an
