http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 boss, Kenny Dalglish has called upon his players to handle their frustration of losing to Newcastle on Sunday and remained hopeful that his side will channel its desperation into results very soon.
Liverpool went down 2-0 against the Magpies, at the Sports Direct Arena, after Papiss Cisse scored two goals for the home side. The defeat was the Reds sixth in their last seven league games. The match also saw their Spanish goal keeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672 being
dismissed for three matches, after he picked up a Red Card in the 83rd minute. Andy Carroll, who was playing against his former club, was also booked during the game for diving inside the Magpies box, in an attempt to win a penalty.
However, the Scott backed his 35 million pound striker but conceded that Reina deserved to be shown a Red.
The 61 year old, who has been subjected to a lot of criticism and pressure off late, admitted that the mood in the dressing room is that of disappointment and frustration, but urged his side to cope with it in a positive manner.
"We do not have a problem with people showing their desperation and disappointment or frustration but we need to channel it better than we have done." Dalglish said.
Talking of the incident in which Carroll was booked for diving, Dalglish mentioned that the player was not felled by Tim Krul and the incident did not a merit a penalty for the Reds. Nevertheless, he insisted that Carroll had not attempted to dive and thought
that he went down as he was off balance.
"We don’t have a problem with that but we maybe have a problem with the yellow card because I don’t think he was intentionally trying to get a penalty.”
The Merseyside team, who are currently 8th in the league table, have been short of goals this season, with the Reds scoring just 36 goals in the league so far. The boss at Anfield bemoaned some of the refereeing decisions that went against his
side and believed that they been abundantly wasteful in converting chances.
“Maybe if we shout up louder we might get some refereeing decisions. “
“There are lots of times that they create openings but we’ve got to take them. We have to believe in ourselves and have belief in what we are doing.”
