Kenny Dalglish is impressed with the performances put in by Maxi Rodriguez, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s recent 2-1 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Dalglish named an unexpected starting line-up for the crucial fixture against Chelsea, as Maxi Rodriguez and Craig Bellamy started the match ahead of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102.
Rodriguez and Bellamy - not starters for Liverpool - had played four and seven matches respectively in all competitions this term, before featuring at Stamford Bridge.
However, the duo made full use of the opportunity given, as Bellamy assisted Rodriguez for Liverpool’s opener.
Dalglish has hailed the character and professionalism shown by Maxi Rodriguez, who was starting his first Premier League match of the current season. The Reds boss was also impressed by the performance put in by Bellamy, who took his chance outstandingly
and proved his worth as he was chosen to start the game ahead of club’s veteran winger, Stewart Downing.
Dalglish said in a post-match conference:
“Maxi likes the temperature in London, he is a really intelligent footballer, as is Craig Bellamy. I appreciate their professionalism. They look after themselves and you can see how good they are in their performances today.”
Key midfielder Charlie Adam was involved in both the goals scored at the Bridge. The Scottish midfielder initiated the attack after winning the ball deep in Chelsea’s half. Moreover, the former Blackpool skipper played a stunning diagonal pass to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050,
who went past two defenders before sliding the ball into the far corner to score the winner.
Dalglish was delighted with Adam’s efforts and said, “There are a lot of good performances out there today. Charlie [Adam] was one of them. Yeah, he’s a good footballer. The fact that Charlie won it and set us off on the attack was the most important thing.”
The Merseyside club experienced their last defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on September 18, 2011, and are undefeated in their seven league matches since then.
The Reds boss is happy with his team’s current form and said:
“We had a disappointing result and performance at Stoke. We kept the players ticking over.”
Liverpool will play their next match against league leaders Manchester City at Anfield next Sunday.
