Liverpool’s manager, Kenny Dalglish has gone on to insist that his team’s season this term has not been a failure and if anything has turned out rather well for them, given they went on to secure a trophy in the current campaign.
The Merseyside club are currently sitting in the seventh spot in the league and the way things are going, it seems rather unlikely for the team to be able to finish in the top four.
The Reds have been rather poor in the league and have failed to really make their mark this time around.
However, Dalglish believes that his side have been performing rather well and the fact that they even went on to win the Carling Cup, just goes to show what the team is capable of.
He also went on to insist that the current season should either be judged on the points the team scores at the end of the term, or the number of trophies that the team picks up.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager, when talking about his team’s performance is quoted to have said: "The club is now where it was before – each one for each one, everybody in it together"
"There are many ways you can judge a season and the best way is progress at the football club as a whole. I don't think it necessarily relates to trophies or points.”
"You can measure it by how the club has progressed and where it is, from the first team to the kids.”
"Off the pitch, especially, the club is a lot stronger than what it was. You go off the pitch and see how much money we are getting through sponsorship and kit deals.”
The way things are shaping up, Liverpool could potentially see out the current season without making a European spot. However, with the team still being in the FA Cup, should they go on and win that competition, they could still add some spark to their current
campaign.
Nonetheless, it is now up to the team and their manager to decide just how they want to see out the current season.
