http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s manager, Kenny Dalglish has expressed his delight, following his team’s win over Stoke City in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.
The Reds went into their game with Stoke with everything to prove. The team had been performing rather poorly in recent weeks and really needed to pick up a win, to give their fans something to cheer about.
With goals being scored by Luis Suarez and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221, the team went on to win their game by two goals to one and in doing so, the team has now booked a place for itself in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Following the game, Dalglish has gone on to admit that he is highly delighted with the way his side played and hopes for the team to produce more of the same in the future.
When talking about the game, the Liverpool boss is quoted to have said:  “It was as difficult, yes [as expected]”
“They started really competitively at a high tempo the first 20 or 30 minutes and we had to match them and I think it was a fantastic performance by us in many ways.”
“I don’t think it’s the best we have ever passed a ball but I think the way we competed and the way they put their bodies on the line was a great example for Liverpool football club, what it meant for them to get through this tie.”
“I was very pleased with our performance; I think we put in a great display. Obviously there are always going to be things that upset you but we got the 2-1 victory.”
Should Liverpool continue to impress in the FA Cup, the team could easily head into the finals of the tournament and stand a chance to win a second trophy this season.
However, even if the team do win the FA Cup, they need to try and land a European spot, or they could see out another season without featuring in the Champions League or the Eruopa League.
It is now a wait to see just how the Reds end their season.
