Liverpool boss, Kenny Dalglish admitted that he remained hopeful despite the Reds woeful run in the Premier League this season, and asked his side to stick together as a unit to overcome the crisis.

The 61 year old admitted that the mood in the dressing room, after the game against the Magpies, was that of disappointment and frustration. However, he revealed that his players are working harder than ever in the training grounds.
"The players have come in Monday and they have trained yesterday and obviously there is a disappointment amongst everybody because of the recent run of results," Dalglish told reporters.
The Scott urged his side to get back to the basics and make up for their lamentable form in the league by working hard.
“The only way we are going to address that and rectify that is to work as hard as we have done.” He added.
The Magpies went 11 points clear of the Merseyside team after their win on Sunday and condemned the Reds to their sixth defeat in the last seven league games. The current season is the Reds worst since 1953, with the Anfield side managing only 11 wins out
of their 31 league games. What is more worrisome for Dalglish is his side’s home record this season, where they have won only five matches out of their fifteen.
Even though the Reds are currently fourth in the league in terms of conceding the least number of goals, they have found it difficult to find the back of the net, scoring only 36 goals this season.

He revealed that even though his side have struggled in the last couple of months, it is something
which does not let him down.
“I've never been down, I've been disappointed but I've never been down," Dalglish claimed.
The Scott also pointed out that there was nothing wrong with his side’s tactics, and believed that a couple of winning performances will get the Reds back to winning ways. He called upon his side to translate their frustration and disappointment into wins,
and insisted that they can use it as a motivational factor.
“They don't like to come off a pitch having lost a game, the frustration and disappointment is something that is a virtue in some ways if we can control it.”
