http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 boss, Kenny Dalglish has revealed that the Reds will definitely land new players at Anfield in the summer, despite the fact that his signings in 2011 have failed to meet the expectations of the club.
The Scott has spent close to 100 million pounds, since taking over the management of the Merseyside team. He signed Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in January 2011 for a whooping 55 million pounds fee, and also spent lavishly on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102 and Stewart
Downing. Apart from Suarez, who is the highest goal scorer for the Reds so far this season, his other signings have failed to make an impact at Anfield.
Liverpool are currently lying at the eighth place in the league table, and their dismal Premier League campaign resulted in the axing of the club’s Director of Football, Damien Comolli earlier in the month.
Despite the failure of his signings, Dalglish stressed the need for the club to acquire fresh players in the summer, in order to improve their league position in the next season.
The Scott told the Daily Mirror, “It all goes into the coffers. The money which is there for us to spend ... we will get whatever they can give us.”
Even though Liverpool are yet to announce a replacement for Comolli, Dalglish underlined the fact that the club is already taking steps to improve the situation at Anfield.
“The owners haven’t decided how they are going to replace Damien, but that doesn’t mean the work has stopped. Anything we have got to do, we will continue to do the best we can until the owners make the decision on how they want Damien replaced.” He added.
Dalglish also explained that the club’s intention to make summer signings does not indicate weakness in the Reds current squad, and expressed his complete satisfaction over the performance of his players throughout the season.
“There are not a lot of changes needed but, like every other football club in the summer, there’s going to be transfer activity because that’s what players expect.”
However, the Scott admitted that his side had dropped too many points in their home games, and it is an area in which they need to improve.
