Kenny Dalglish revealed that he was honoured to take the managerial post at Anfield for the second time around as a manager, following his sacking by the club on Wednesday.
The 61-year old flew to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 after being summoned by the owners of the clubs parent company, Fenway Sports Group and was subsequently sacked by the club, in view of the Reds failure to meet their target of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Liverpool finished the table at eighth place and will contest in the Europa League competition instead in the following term.
However, the Scott mentioned that it was an honour for him to come back as a manager for the second time, and was glad to deliver the Carling Cup title this season, which ended the Reds six year title drought. Even though he admitted that their league performance
was well below par under his management, he insisted that their remarkable run in the domestic cup competitions overall reflected a progressive season.
He told reporters, “I greatly appreciate the work that Steve, Kevin, the players and all of the staff put in during my time and feel proud that we delivered the Club's first trophy in six years winning the Carling Cup and came close to a second trophy in
the FA Cup Final.”
The Scott also expressed his gratitude towards the club’s owners for taking care of the matter in an honourable and dignified manner, and offered his willingness to help http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in any possible way that he can.
 He continued, “I would like to thank all of the staff at the Club for their effort and loyalty. I said when first approached about coming back as Manager that I would always be of help if I can at any time and that offer remains the same.”
Dalglish’s second spell with Liverpool lasted for 16 months. During this time, he managed the Reds in 74 games in all competitions and compiled a 47.3 percent win record.
He also thanked that club’s fans for their continuous and unyielding trust that they had vested in him, and owed his successes and achievements to them.
