Dallas Cowboys’ CB Morris Claiborne ‘eager and ready’ to return – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys’ cornerback, Morris Claiborne, has hoped to recover from a wrist injury as soon as possible, saying that he is ‘eager and ready’ to return to the field.
Claiborne was selected in first round of the 2012 National Football League (NFL) draft as the sixth overall pick by the Cowboys, who were already aware of the fact that the player would not be able to step on the field immediately.
Claiborne underwent a wrist surgery a couple of months ago and was expected to take around four months to recover.
He did not even participate in the team’s three-day rookie minicamp and watched his teammates working out from the sidelines wearing a hard cast to cover his hand.
Later, he had his cast removed and was only limited to wearing a soft cast. However, that too did not allow him to take the field.
Now he has said that the soft cast will also be removed next week after which he would be ready to step on the field.
According to the details present on the team’s official website, Claiborne said of missing the team activities:
“It’s hard sitting there and watching and knowing you can do it, but you’ve got one small thing that’s wrong with you and holding you back. But I’m looking forward to it and I’m trying to push that up.”
Earlier, it was expected that Claiborne would miss the rookie minicamp, training camp, organised team activities (OTAs) and another minicamp that will be conducted in June. He was supposed to join the team for July’s training camp before the preseason games.
Claiborne has already missed the rookie minicamp, and might also miss the OTAs, but he is now hoping to return for the June’s minicamp and said about it:
"I hope to be fully recovered and ready for that."
However, Cowboys have not yet shed light on this matter and all the developments in this regard are restricted only to the comments from the player.
According to different reports, the team management might not allow Claiborne to attend the minicamp in June as it does not want to take any risk and will give him clearance to only attend the training camp in July.
