Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray: This year is going to be a great year for us – NFL News
Although Dallas Cowboys have not won the Super Bowl title since more than a decade, there is no dearth of those who think that the team is going to have greater chances of winning the title in the 2012 National Football League (NFL) season.
Be it their owner, Jerry Jones, star quarterback, Tony Romo, or any other player, all of them think that the upcoming season is a good opportunity for the Cowboys to regain their lost glory.
The recent one to join them is running back, DeMarco Murray, who made his NFL debut last year.
Murray is of the view that the presence of young and experienced players on the roster makes Cowboys a strong unit.
Talking to ESPN radio, Murray said:
"I think we have a great group of guys. But at the same time, we definitely feel that this year is going to be a great year for us, and we don't see why we shouldn't be in the Super Bowl this year."
He added:
"We have a great group of young guys and we also have a great group of vets who I think they're still playing like they're 25, 26, 27 years old. Look at (Jason) Witten, I'm around that guy every day and he's one of the hardest working guys. He's out there
beating me in agility drills, I'm trying my hardest over and over to beat him and I can't..."
In his rookie year, Murray was one of the feel-good stories for the Cowboys. However, the player was forced out due to an ankle injury.
He played 13 games in the season while starting seven of them and registered 897 rushing yards on 164 attempts while scoring two touchdowns.
He is upbeat about the upcoming season and the injury is not bothering him anymore.
He informed that he had been doing workouts since the past couple of months without facing any problem in terms of the injury.
Cowboys have not told if they are going to give Murray the starting role in the upcoming season but it is certain that he is going to get more playing time as compared to the last year.
