Dallas Cowboys RB Lawrence Vickers focusing on developing chemistry – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys running back Lawrence Vickers started his professional National Football League (NFL) career with Cleveland Browns in 2006. He played five seasons with the Browns before joining the Houston Texans for one year.
With Browns and Texans, Vickers, like any other player, played with different teammates and sometimes with new strategies and techniques.
He has now joined the Cowboys and he knows that he will have to learn a whole new system and develop good chemistry with his teammates to progress well on the field.
According to the details present on the team’s official website, Vickers does not seem bothered by these challenges as he is adaptable.
While asserting that it is necessary to develop chemistry with the teammates, he said:
"Even if I was going to be with the same guy, we approach it the same way every year, so it never changes for me.”
He added:
“It's as if we're just meeting each other and we've got to get on the right page. Chemistry is a must. Even being with somebody over two or three years ... you're going to have different linemen, you're going to be going against different defenses and different
things will be going on.”
Cowboys already have a great running back in DeMarco Murray who made his debut last year but could not play the entire season owing to an injury.
He is expected to be available right from the start of the upcoming season and it is essential for Vickers to develop good understanding with him and ensure effective coordination.
Vickers also realises it and he is paying attention to every minor detail to gain perfection. He said:
“It's a trust thing, but at the same time it's repetition, it's us communicating, it's us getting on the same page. I'm going to keep working on it, and we're going to get it right."
Cowboys were unable to qualify for the playoffs last season. Even though they came close to reaching the playoffs, a loss against the New York Giants crushed their hopes.
Many critics have been saying that the Cowboys do not have what it takes to be a winning team by the Boys are determined to prove them wrong and that’s why their performance at every position matters a lot.
