Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant on defeating New York Giants: We prepared well – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has cited better preparation as the reason behind the team’s victory over the defending Super Bowl champions New York Giants in the 2012 National Football League (NFL) season opener.
Cowboys, who had lost their last game of the 2011 season against Giants and were eliminated from playoff contention, had been desperately waiting to settle the score with their National Football Conference (NFC) East rivals.
Indeed, they prepared well throughout the offseason, made important and sensible roster adjustments, and although the Giants did not perform well as they fumbled a lot and gave many penalties, the Cowboys exerted pressure on the opponents to get the deserving
victory.
Bryant is of the view that every player prepared well to face the Giants and ensure the victory. According to the details present on the team’s website, the receiver said:
“I just feel like we prepared well. And I feel like that’s what we’ve got to do throughout the rest of our games. We’ve got a good team, and we’ve all got to each other’s back … It means a lot. We just went out there and played our game. We prepared very
well and it showed out there on the field.”
Bryant, who is into his third year with the Cowboys, is expected to get plenty of playing time in the games to come and he might also start receiving more passes from quarterback Tony Romo now.
In the game against Giants, Bryant caught four passes for 85 yards and as he adjusts into the Cowboys offensive system, in which tight end Jason Witten and wide receivers Miles Austin are favourite receivers of Romo’s passes, Bryant might also become one
of the quarterback’s favourite receivers.
So far Bryant has received help from all the senior players to improve his game and he hopes to continue playing well to gain confidence of his coaches and teammates. He said:
“I had help from Tony, I had help from Miles, Witt and the rest of the guys. I feel like it helped me out a lot, I learned a lot and I’m just going to keep it moving.”
