Dallas Cowboys’ WR Raymond Radway recovering fast, optimistic about future – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver, Raymond Radway, who was signed by the team as an undrafted free agent last year, has expressed hopes of recovering completely from his foot injury, which forced him out of the last National Football League (NFL) season.
Radway, 24, is rather unfortunate as despite playing well on the field, he is yet to make his NFL debut – something he could have done a year earlier.
After being signed by the Cowboys, he attended the team’s training sessions and participated in the preseason games in which his performance was satisfactory.
However, in the final preseason game that was played against Miami Dolphins Radway received a serious injury in the final seconds of the game.
While attempting to catch a pass, Radway mistimed his jump and was blocked by two Dolphins’ defenders. He fell on the ground at once and was unable to stand again.
Later, it was diagnosed that he had suffered a broken left fibula and tibia and Cowboys had no other option but to place Radway on their injured reserve list.
Now when the Cowboys are preparing for the 2012 season, Radway is optimistic about making his NFL debut.
He has been working out since a long period of time and feels that he has reached the level where he can run on the field.
According to the details present on the team’s official website, Radway is satisfied with the level of his recovery at the moment.
He said:
"Everything is full-go right now. I'm cutting, I'm running routes. ... As far as the speed, I'm at about 95 percent of where I was, but I can feel it coming back. It's looking promising."
Cowboys are going to start their minicamp for rookies next weekend and Radway is planning on attending the camp. He is aware of his health condition and thinks that the camp will not hamper his recovery progress.
He said:
"My wind is OK. It's just the repetition on the leg and being able to run those routes, full speed, over and over again. That's what I'm trying to get back right now."
Cowboys were unable to qualify for the playoffs last season and Radway is hopeful of becoming a part of the team and help it qualify for the postseason this time.
