Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants to battle for the NFC East supremacy in Week 14 – NFL Preview
A thrilling and fascinating encounter is certainly on the cards as Dallas Cowboys host New York Giants at the Cowboys Stadium in the week-14 game of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
The game, reputed as one of the most exciting of the week, has ignited the emotions of the anxious fans, who are desperate to see their favourite team coming out as winner.
At present the Cowboys are leading the National Football Conference East division with a complete one-game lead over the Giants that are placed second in the division rankings.
If the Cowboys win, they will build upon their existing lead and become the most obvious contender for the playoffs. On the flip side, if fortune favours the Giants, things will come back to the square one where both the teams
will tie for the first spot in the division, which will provide an equal opportunity to them to gain an entry into the postseason with three games left apiece.
The contest is evenly-matched as the quarterbacks, Eli Manning and Tony Romo, are having wonderful season.
Giants’ Manning has completed 276 passes of 442 attempts for 3,705 yards. He has 23 touchdowns with a quarterback rating of 96.0. He knows that he has a big game coming up.
“The mindset is looking ahead," he said. "It doesn't matter what you've done last week or what your record is. It's what you're playing for, who you have this week. And you have Dallas, Sunday night football, that's a big one.
On the other hand Cowboys’ Romo has completed 273 passes of 422 attempts for 3,325 yards in 12 games. He has 22 touchdowns with a quarterback rating of 97.3. Romo thinks that playing such a high-intensity game is ‘fun’, but maintains
that every game is a big game for him.
“I feel like every game is this big. When we went to San Francisco it was a really, really big game. And when we played Washington, it felt like a big game. They just matter so much. That's why you get excited about playing. That's
why you grind each week," Romo said.
Adding to the thrill of the game, the last week witnessed some harsh exchange of words between the players of both the teams. It seems that the winner will have more than just a win to celebrate after the game, whereas the loser
is expected to come in the line of fire.
