Dallas Cowboys beat Philadelphia Eagles 38-33 – NFL Week 13 Recap
Dallas Cowboys defeated Philadelphia Eagles, 38-33, in Week 13 game on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, TX.
It was tough game between the National Football Conference (NFC) East rivals.
Eagles running back Bryce Brown started the lead by rushing for 10 yards towards the end zone and scored a touchdown in the first quarter (7-0).
In the second quarter, Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey kicked a 39-yard field goal and took the score to 3-7.
Brown rushed for 5 yards and scored another touchdown, and increased the lead to 14-3.
Later, Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray rushed for one yard and scored first touchdown for the team and took the score to 10-14.
At the end of the second quarter, Eagles kicker Alex Henery kicked a 43-yard field goal and took the score to 17-10.
In the beginning of the third quarter, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo threw a 23-yard pass to wide receiver Dez Bryant, who scored a touchdown and tied the score at 17-17.
Eagles quarterback Nick Foles threw a 15-yard pass to wide receiver Riley Cooper, who scored a touchdown and took the lead to 24-17.
In the fourth quarter, Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin received a 27-yard pass from Romo and scored a touchdown, and tied the score to 24-24.
Henery kicked a 43-yard field goal and increased the lead to 27-24. At 05:35, Romo threw a 6-yard pass to Bryant, scoring a touchdown to increase the lead to 31-27.
At 03:50, Cowboys cornerback Morris Caliborne returned a fumble by Brown for 50 yards for a touchdown and took the lead to 38-27.
According to Eagles head coach Andy Reid, everything was going good before that fumble.
He said:
"Up until that fumble, he had done a heck of a job. He was trying to get every stinking yard he possibly could."
At the end of the game, Eagles got a chance to score six points, when wide receiver Damaris Johnson returned a punt for 98 yards, thus ending the game with 33-38.
After losing the last game against Washington Redskins, it was really important for Cowboys to stay at 2nd position in the division by winning this game.
Romo seemed satisfied with this victory, he said:
"It's about winning games. We desperately had to have this win tonight, and our team fought like heck to get a win."
Romo completed 22 of 27 passes for 303 yards and scored three touchdowns.
Foles shared his views about the game and said:
"It was a tough loss. I'm proud of our team with the way they fought. We have to keep working and stick together."
Eagles and Cowboys will pay their next game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cincinnati Bengals respectively on Sunday.
