Dallas Cowboys gearing up for Atlanta Falcons – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys have a daunting challenge in front of them as they prepare to face Atlanta Falcons in Week 9 game this Sunday.
The Cowboys are struggling to maintain winning momentum and that has hurt their position in National Football Conference (NFC) East and could eventually end their playoff hopes, yet another time.
In the seven games Cowboys have played so far this season, they have faced defeats at regular intervals, while they have not been able to get two or more wins in a row.
Furthermore, Falcons have won all their games played so far in the season and are the leading the league’s rankings.
Falcons will play this weekend’s game having the home-field advantage. Their quarterback Matt Ryan, who is in top form, is even better when it comes to playing at home.
Although Cowboys have not ignored any of the said facts, they are still upbeat about beating Falcons. According to the details present on Cowboys’ website, defensive end Marcus Spears said of Falcons:
“They’re a really good football team. But at the end of the day, we need to give ourselves a shot to win. I think we can beat any team in this league if we play the way we’re capable of playing. That only manifests on the day of the game.”
Meanwhile, head coach Jason Garrett has also acknowledged that it will be tough for his players to play on Falcons' home field. He said:
“Certainly their home field is an advantage to them. Playing in that dome, it can get loud. And when they’re playing well, it can get that much louder. So that will certainly be a challenge for us.”
He added:
“We have to make sure we handle it well.”
A number of teams have failed this season in front of Falcons and it will not be a surprise if Falcons win another game. However, it will certainly be a big turnaround for Cowboys if they manage to win this game.
In case of a victory, Cowboys will also stand a chance of improving their rankings in NFC East and can save their playoff chances.
