Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey satisfied with his performance – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey has expressed satisfaction over his performance against Carolina Panthers.
The kicker scored four field goals on four attempts that also include the go-ahead and game-winning goals in the final quarter.
A game earlier when the Cowboys faced Baltimore Ravens, Bailey missed a field goal from a little over 50 yards and the team eventually lost the game. If Bailey had scored successfully Ravens would have lost the game.
Entering the game against Panthers, Bailey was under pressure, but he did well to control his nerves and kicked on every field goal attempt successfully.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Bailey said:
“Last week was tough. It’s just a tough situation. It’s kind of hard to swallow sometimes. But it was good to go out there this week, and when the opportunities came up, I was able to put them through.”
Against Panthers, Bailey scored a field goal in the second quarter (from 19 yards) to bring his team in lead. He scored a field goal (from 49 yards) in the third quarter and added another two (first from 28 yards and second from 38 yards) to ensure victory
for Cowboys.
However, his start to the game was not very well as he failed to cover a lot of distance on a kickoff attempt and Panthers got the possession with relatively short distance to cover to reach the end zone.
Bailey said of that attempt:
“That was just bad. That was just a mental error on my part. I was just trying to do too much, trying to pretty much kill the ball. I took my eyes off of it.”
Meanwhile, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett has also appreciated performance from his special teams against Panthers, saying Bailey also played well to seal the victory for Cowboys, who are now 3-3 and stand at second position in National Football Conference
(NFC) East along with Philadelphia Eagles, behind defending champions New York Giants.
Garrett said:
“I thought our special teams did a good job as well. Dan Bailey came up big a couple of times in the ballgame to seal the deal for us.”
