Dallas Cowboys mourn loss against Seattle Seahawks, optimistic about next games – NFL News
After starting the 2012 season on a winning note, Dallas Cowboys were not able to build any winning streak as they were defeated in the second game. The defeat has left them dejected, but they are hopeful of overcoming their flaws in the next game.
In the season opener, Cowboys defeated the defending Super Bowl champions New York Giants, hoping to crush other opponents as well. But in their second game, Seattle Seahawks easily outscored Cowboys.
As Cowboys prepare for their Week 3 game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they are mourning their recent loss, but are optimistic about the next encounter.
This will be Cowboys’ first home game of the season and they want to defeat the Bucs to cheer their fans. According to the details present on the team’s website, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has backed the team for good performance against
Tampa Bay. Jones said:
“We just learn from this. As we all know, we’re just starting, so we’ll get in here and we’ve got to get home this weekend. We’re playing a tough Tampa team.”
After a spectacular show against Giants, Cowboys were unable to put up a strong fight against Seahawks and their offence struggled badly to deal with Seahawks defence.
In the entire game, Cowboys got only one scoring move. They scored a touchdown in the second quarter when they were already trailing by 10 points. Tight end Jason Witten said of the team’s performance:
“It’s not about were you too high, were you too low, you got your tail kicked. I think each person has to look at themselves and understand how they can handle it. The easy thing would be to say you were [down], 10-0, before you even got out the gate. It’s
hard to overcome that, the stats show it. But still, we didn’t execute well enough.”
Tampa Bay has made an aggressive start to the season. They defeated Carolina Panthers in their season opener and gave a tough time to Giants before losing their second game. They are not going to easy opponents for Cowboys, who must develop a sound strategy
to counter the visitors.
