Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones “agrees” with New York Giants’ Mathias Kiwanuka – NFL News
As the opening of the 2012 regular season comes closer, the two teams that are going to face each other to kick off the season have started making the headlines.
Both New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys, being the National Football Conference (NFC) East division rivals, share exciting history and the hype that is being created for the upcoming season is expected to further increase in the days to come.
In July, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones had asked fans to come and see the season opener in which Cowboys would beat the “Giants a*s”. Naturally, a response in this regard from Giants linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka further increased the hype.
Kiwanuka recently responded to Jones’ comments by saying:
“The New York Giants have been whupping his a*s for a long time. I mean it has got to be tough on the outside looking in on all these championships lately.”
Jones did not stay behind and soon took a shot at Kiwanuka. While talking to the USA Today, the Cowboys owner “agreed” with the Giants linebacker. Jones said:
"I agree with him, and the only thing I'm saying is that I'll never get used to it.”
While referring to the Giants’ Super Bowl victory last season, Jones said:
"It is tough (being) on the outside looking in. That's the way I felt when I got in the NFL as an owner. I didn't want to be on the outside, looking in.”
Meanwhile, Jones did well not to keep the temperature low and while he continued to build the hype of the regular season opener to be played on September 05, he did not pass remarks conveying hatred for the Giants.
Jones said of the first game of the 2012 season:
"The Giants are an inspiration … it is opening the NFL season in front of such a high-profile forum.”
The Cowboys played their last game of the 2011 regular season against the Giants who won the encounter and sent the former packing. The Cowboys are also somewhat excited to start the proceedings from where they had left it last year and look to avenge the
last year’s defeat.
