Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had a ‘great visit’ with Dez Bryant – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has finally collected all the information he needed regarding the incident of wide receiver Dez Bryant, who was recently charged for assaulting his mother, and the owner also had a talk with the receiver during a ‘great visit’
recently.
After the incident many players and team officials shared their views on the situation but Jones did not comment on any development, saying that he was collecting information around the incident.
During a radio talk on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, the owner even said that he was “too pissed to talk to him” but he later informed that he had met with the receiver.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Jones delayed his meeting with the receiver because he wanted to collect the information around the incident apart from getting his mind straight so as to avoid any emotional decision. Jones said:
“I didn’t want to talk to him emotionally. That was one of the reasons why I haven’t talked to him, because I was disappointed – I used the other word. But that’s one of the main reasons.”
The owner added:
“You know as a daddy sometimes, you’re not supposed to spank when you’re mad. And so, I wanted to get, like I said the other day, the information. But I also wanted to get my mind right so that we could really have a good talk about things. We had a great
visit.”
A couple of weeks ago, Bryant’s mother called 911 and informed that she had been beaten by her son and that it was not the first time such incident had occurred.
As per the details, the player was having an argument with her mother and it turned violent. The receiver was charged with a Class A misdemeanour, but he later posted a bond and was released.
Later, her mother stepped back and did not pursue the case.
Jones is certainly disappointed with the behaviour of the player, who has been released now by the law enforcement officials, but the stance of the league office it is still unknown on this matter. The league can even suspend the player for a few games or
fine him.
